Is Your Timing Keeping You From Being Successful in Your Business? Part 2

Last week I talked about how either move too fast or too slow can sabotage your success. Today I am going to talk about a place where entrepreneurs tend to move slowly - creating products or programs.Does familiar? You've worked your book or your program or product for several months or even years. You're close to the finish - just one or two things. Of course, every time you finish that one or two things, one or two things emerge. It is never ending. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

I know that many, many entrepreneurs (including myself) who have taken longer than necessary to complete their products. The reasons vary, but many fall into the "perfectionist" camp. Take pride in your work. You want your product to be perfect. You want your customers to your product and get much love it. There is nothing wrong with that, right? Well, if there are circumstances where you really bringing your product on the market. Think about it - if the conclusion is not quite right or there are a few typos missed, that's really taking away from the experience of your product? Whether the results of your customers? Will not natural.

But we are so fixated on perfection we can not ignore the advice that. Now many successful entrepreneurs to share if you're in this situation is something along the lines of "good enough is good enough" (which means your product may not be perfect , just to get a good product and then get on the market) or "imperfect taking action" (which also means actually getting the darn thing out the door, even though imperfect). I agree with both statements, but The problem is what happens when you know this and you still get that "one thing done?" I think there are some deeper problems with perfectionism.

(And depending on how deep the problems are depends on how fast you can push through them.) Let me explain. When a product we make is easy to fall into the trap of thinking the product is an extension of ourselves. So, no flaws or mistakes or criticism of the product suddenly takes on much greater importance then it should be. Because of problems with the product, something missing in the product is actually a problem or a flaw in our personally. In addition to that (if not hard enough to pass) is also a matter of little value.

If you do not value yourself, your gifts, your brilliance, what you bring to the world, how do you a product you created value? And if you do not value your product, when will it ever be "good enough "to sell? So what happens if you find yourself relating to one or both of these problems? Well, you take a step back to a deeper and work on yourself. Hiring a coach or take of a program that is in the heart of what you struggle with - whether it itself is the valuation, the valuation of your brilliance or accepting yourself (warts and all) is crucial to help push through your blocks and the selling.

If get your finished product and you want something right now, try journaling about. see what you and your next steps should be.Next week we look at the next step - racing through your product launch today you've finally got your product done.
